Update 5: Stand with YiSSA - community solidarity and support meeting

Thank-you everyone for your ongoing support. The whole country now knows what the NT Government is doing to people at YiSSA. As reported in this article, the NT government is not budging. We are yet to see a solution from the Federal Government. There are still people with medical issues who do not know where they will be housed if YiSSA closes tomorrow as planned.

If you are based in Darwin, please join us tomorrow at 8am outside YiSSA: 55 Batten Road, Marrara for a community meeting and bring a plate of food to share. We will demonstrate our solidarity with the residents of YiSSA and wider community who need this service in Darwin. We will discuss how to support people going forward, which may include things like cleaning, shopping or transport.

If you are outside Darwin, please keep advocating with your federal MPs to provide federal support for YiSSA. There is clear need for a service like this in Darwin, whether at the current site or not. Please also keep sharing the petition.
