Aggressive Magpie Harming Students at St Catherine’s Singleton

The magpie residing in the St Catherine’s Catholic College Singleton car park and student drop off is harming students, caregivers, and staff daily. The risk of being swooped and the risk of being harmed are both extremely high. The magpie needs to be relocated or another method needs to be taken to  eliminate this risk as soon as possible. The community understands that it is natural for magpies to swoop and guard territory around their nest but when it is on school grounds in a popular area it is not okay. This specific magpie has already made a student bleed on their way to the further car park, the magpie following her with viscous intent even after having clipped her on the scalp.

Why is this important?

This is important to prevent further injuries than those that have already taken place. The relocation of this magpie would benefit all parties involved and extinguish the possibility of someone being severely harmed.
