ALT COOLING SYSTEMS & ELECTRICTY SOURCE FOR AI DATA CENTRES.

AI DATA CENTRE’S POPPING UP LIKE NOTHING!
A reduction in the fast upcoming AI data centres.
I am deeply concerned about the growing number of data centres being built in suburban areas, including my own community (Melbourne’s West).

As someone who cherishes the tranquility and resources of our neighbourhood, I am worried about the long-term impact these facilities will have on our environment and resources.
Our community is currently facing plans to build a major data centre the size of over 150 MCG’s, and the potential consequences are alarming. More so than the “alert” we were all set to receive at the same time.

Data centers consume vast amounts of electricity and water. A single data centre can use as much electricity as 50,000 homes and millions of litres of water annually. For communities like ours, this can lead to increased utility costs, potential water shortages, and a significant carbon footprint that contradicts efforts to promote sustainability.
In our area, we have already seen electricity prices spike due to high demands.

The introduction of a data centre could exacerbate this problem, affecting both residential and local businesses. Additionally, water usage by such facilities could jeopardise our drinking water supply, particularly during periods of drought or high temperatures common in the summer months.

Data centres should instead be placed in industrial zones and utilise another cooling system that won’t impact all of our drinking water and not to mention our power grid and its capacity to run all of these centres.

THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU HAVE POWER, WATER, FOOD, NOTHING!!!!
As long as it makes them money, this is a 150 BILLION dollar project. What about more housing? Hmm..
I urge community members and policymakers to reconsider the placement of data centres in suburban settings and to prioritise the needs and wellbeing of current residents.
Ensuring that our local resources are preserved for our community and future generations should be our community’s top priority.

I understand in making this petition I am contributing to the problem, I’d like to utilise this time to try to bring awareness to families how detrimental this can become in our lives. Families, children, animals, everyone will be impacted!!!

Do your research & make as mindful choices as you can in our current system!

Much love ❤️

Why is this important?

This is detrimental to all of our communities long term. People are already facing dirty water, water shortages. Our land is being taken away & replaced with these centre’s that we all utilise so frequently. We need to think twice & stand together!
