Ban tablet wrappers that are not 100% Aluminium
Hello there.
My name is Suzie Masters and for the past 6 or so years I have been volunteering at Lids4Kids based in Fyshwick ACT.
I would like to bring to your attention, the plastic tablet containers we get all the time, which cannot be recycled, when we all get a prescription filled at the chemist.
The ones that are 100% all aluminium are fully recyclable, but the ones with plastic mixed with them have to be disposed of and go to landfill.
I was hoping (and wishing) that the Australian Government could pass a law to make all medication come in 100% aluminium, so that we can ALL make a difference and help make our country one of the leaders in recycling. It wouldn't cost anything. But we would save money trying to find ways to dispose of landfill for these tablet cards that are not 100% aluminium
I think that if you said by the 31st of December 2027 all tablets could be put in correct aluminium packets, that it would be enough time for the manufacturers to come on board.
