Domestic development rather than imports
Australia imports medicinal cannabis from Canada when it could be grown here. It would create jobs & a product that could be exported. The cost would then be reduced for domestic customers.
Australia imports 80% of fertiliseed required by farmers. This is a recent problem which the Frederal Government states will be rectified sometime in the next few years. While farmers wait for fertiliser a NSW farmer is producing his own fertiliser with the assistance of a man from New Zealand. This information was recently on Facebook & as such would easy to pursue.
Australia mines valuable rare minerals which it exports. These minerals are processed & exported back to Australia at a premium mark up.

Why is this important?
Australia needs to be more self reliant as oppossed to be reliant upon other countries & subject to the changing world dynamics. We are at the mercy of changing mindsets of other countries ie. USA & global changes out of our control. We need to be more in control of our future.
