Formal At The End Of The Year
Dear School Leadership,
We are asking if our school formal can be moved from the beginning of the year back to the end of the year, where it has always been held.
For many years, our formal has been an end-of-year tradition. It's something students look forward to as a way to celebrate finishing Year 12 and all the hard work we've put in throughout the year. Having it at the end makes it feel like a real celebration of everything we've achieved together before we all go our separate ways.
The weather is another big reason. At the end of the year, it's usually warmer and better for taking photos outside and enjoying the night without worrying about cold weather or rain. It just makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
It's also much more convenient for students and families. At the start of the year, everyone is busy settling into school, buying books and uniforms, and getting used to Year 12. Having the formal later gives students and parents more time to save money, organise outfits, book hair and makeup appointments, and plan transport without feeling rushed.
We understand there may have been reasons for changing the date, but we believe having the formal at the end of the year would make it much more meaningful and enjoyable for everyone. It's a tradition that means a lot to students, and we'd really appreciate it if you could reconsider the decision.
Thank you for taking the time to read our petition and consider our request.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned Students
Why is this important?
Our formal is one of the biggest events of Year 12, and it should be a celebration at the end of the year after we've finished all our hard work. It's been an end-of-year tradition for years, and moving it back would make the night feel much more special. It also gives everyone more time to save money, organise outfits, and enjoy better weather.
By signing this petition, you're showing that you want our formal to be the best it can be. The more people who support it, the more likely the school is to listen. Every signature counts, so if you want to keep this tradition going and make the formal a better experience for everyone, please join the campaign.
