Stop planned burns of our forests
Forest Fire Management Vic. are burning through our forests, National Parks and wilderness areas on an industrial scale. The result is barren landscapes with renowned scientists proving that this burning of the forests is resulting in a dryer and warmer climate and environment and species/habitat loss is expontential.
Australia has one of the worst records in the world for species loss and FFM burns are contributing to this.
Communities/organisations across Victoria are devastated at the extent FFM are burning across our State.
The burns must stop and re evaluated immediately as burns continue at this moment across Victoria. Two are within the Snowy River National Park and Great Otway National Park. FFM are changing the face of our forests and wilderness areas, to the point where hiking trails and a rainforest experience have been diminished. FFM claim they are burning to save homes, lives and infrastructure but their burns cover hundreds of thousands of hectares leaving devastation in their wake. DEECA work in conjuction with FFM, but DEECA have very little power over FFM. Also when Vic Forests were disbanded by Dan Andrews as logging was made illegal, FFM commenced. FFM are doing more damage to the environment than Vic Forest did.

Why is this important?
If Forest Fire Management continue their burns through Victorian forests and wilderness areas the change to our ecosystems will be degraded to the point we will mass species/habitat loss and not have any old growth forests left. If you look at the planned burn areas of the Great Otway National Park for example, their burns cover the entire area. It is the same for the Snowy River National Park where they are burning at this moment.
FFM also claim they are doing "fuel reduction burns" all clever propaganda, because they cant say they are doing "forest reduction burns" as communities would be up in arms, but this is what they are doing.
