Traffic lights at Jandakot road intersection with Warton road
During peak hours, drivers travelling east of Jandakot Road after Soiltaire Road towards the Warton-Jandakot Road intersection suffer long waiting times due to poorly regulated traffic. Currently, a roundabout is "regulating" traffic from each side but is failing due to a lack of traffic from Mason Road, allowing those on Warton Road to continue driving without stopping. This creates a backlog of cars on Jandakot Road as road users struggle to find safe gaps to enter and exit the roundabout. Wait times can extend to periods as long as 12 minutes.
We are calling for a traffic management investigation and to investigate potential solutions such as an added lane and traffic lights that could operate during peak hours to allow drivers to pass safely during peak hours.
