Many members of the Asquith community have shared their experiences of near misses, and there are reports of previous collisions involving pedestrians. These incidents demonstrate that this is not an isolated problem but an ongoing safety issue requiring urgent attention. Asquith is experiencing significant residential growth, increasing the number of pedestrians using this crossing every day, including school children, commuters, older residents, and people with disabilities. The current road design is not adequately protecting these vulnerable road users.

This is an important project that affects every visitor to Harris Park BUsiness precincts and the businesses at Harris Park.

There are approximately 22,000 residents of Karratha, many of which are families. The health and safety of residents who make up the economy & community of Karratha should be of primary concern to the council.  If no immediate and significant action is taken, it is a matter of time before a member of the public including children are harmed by the countless needles & discarded hazardous materials including used condoms that are left in Karratha’s public playgrounds. At which point this will become a matter of legal consequence to the City of Karratha for failure to adequately and appropriately address the concerns consistently raised by members of the public along with failure to take reasonable action to mitigate the known risks. To date, this issue has already put many members of the public in danger. Children in our community have been harmed by discarded needles in public areas.  Concerned members of the public are the ones consistently baring the brunt of responsibility by picking up & discarding hazardous materials in public areas as well as having to spend time calling in and following up council action, with many reported hazards not being attended to in an appropriate time frame.  The City of Karratha enjoys an abundant economic landscape due to the contribution of the people and families who reside here. Ensuring the city of Karratha is a safe, responsive and healthy space should be of paramount concern to the council.

In today's age where information flows freely, it is crucial that the details of convicted sex offenders, including their names and addresses, are made legally available for public access. This will empower individuals to make informed decisions about their safety and the safety of their families. Currently, in many regions around the world, individuals are left in the dark about the potential threats lurking within their own neighborhoods. By making such crucial information accessible, we can prevent further trauma and foster trust within our communities.

People should join this campaign because Queensland’s drug-driving laws are medical discrimination, and the harsher penalties risk becoming revenue raising at the expense of prescribed medicinal cannabis patients. Patients can take their medication as prescribed, experience no impairment, and still face fines and lose their licence simply because THC is detected. Road safety laws should target impairment, not punish patients for legally prescribed medication. With higher fines and expanded roadside drug testing coming, we must act now.

Representative politics has been bastardized by 'party affiliation' - this is beyond repair in Australia. (perhaps in every western demacracy worldwide).  Our only remaining solution is a form of 'direct democracy' using modern technology and 'an alliance of independent candidates' party that will reflect the majority decisions of the constituents of each particular electorate on all issues. 

This is important as it will support family members who feel stranded at the hospitals. It also affects almost all of Australia's rural communities, and there are a lot of them out there. There are approximately 15 to 25 patients are flown into major city hospitals (like those in Melbourne) by hospital helicopters every day. While exact national statistics specifically measuring how many rural patients feel stranded after hospital visits are not formally published, broad data shows it is a systemic issue; with nearly 10% of all public hospital beds in Australia being occupied by "stranded" patients. One patient, Jane (not real name), was an elderly woman who was a fall risk. She was given medication the day she was discharged from The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Jane was told to go home with no support, and she had no family or friends around to help her. Thanks to a kind bed neighbour in the hospital, she was given a room at a nearby hotel for two nights before she caught a train and a bus home to Mildura. Without the help of that bed neighbour, Jane would have been expected to catch that train and bus home for an 8 hour trip before she felt fully stable. It should have been the hospital or the government that aided Jane in getting home, not another hospitalized patient.

This matters because the Geelong to Melbourne train line is more than just a transport service. It is how people get to work. It is how students get to school, TAFE and university. It is how people get to medical appointments. It is how parents get home to their children. It is how communities like Geelong, Lara, Wyndham Vale and Tarneit stay connected. When there is no clear backup plan, a delay can quickly become a major problem. A short trip can turn into hours of waiting. People can be left stranded at stations with little information and no clear way home. This has a real cost. People lose work time. Families lose time together. Students miss learning. Patients miss appointments. Businesses lose staff hours. Roads become busier as more people feel forced to drive. Public transport should give people confidence. It should help people choose trains over cars. But when the system does not have a strong backup plan, people lose trust. A growing region needs a transport system that can handle problems when they happen. Good contingency planning is not optional. It is part of running a safe, fair and reliable public transport network.

This petition isn't about encouraging illegal graffiti or suggesting every tag deserves protection. Quite the opposite. It's about recognising that, on very rare occasions, something captures the public imagination in a positive way. When that happens, perhaps the best response isn't to immediately paint over it, but to acknowledge that public art sometimes appears in unexpected ways. Keeping Pam would: • Preserve a piece of spontaneous urban culture that has resonated with thousands of Victorians. • Celebrate Melbourne's reputation as Australia's street art capital. • Save taxpayers the cost of immediately removing something that many people genuinely enjoy. • Add a little colour, humour and character to an otherwise ordinary stretch of concrete. • Demonstrate that governments can occasionally recognise when the public has spoken—and have a laugh with us. Cities all over the world are remembered for the little things that give them character. Melbourne shouldn't be afraid to embrace one of its newest accidental mascots. So let's leave Pam where she is. Not because she's perfect. Not because graffiti should always stay. But because every now and then, Australia deserves to keep something that's simply made people smile. Sign this petition if you believe Pam the Bird should remain on the Bolte Bridge as a unique and much-loved part of Melbourne's urban landscape. Don't scrub the bird. Let Pam fly. 

The community was NOT adequately consulted about this project. The Council has said there were no objections, but we know this is not the case.  We love our MTB Park and Dog Park!  We don't want to wait TWO YEARS for new ones, and we resent not being consulted! 

NEPT is essential. It safely transports patients who still need clinical support but don’t require an emergency ambulance. If it’s privatised further, we’ll see: ❌ Loss of experienced NEPT staff ❌ More pressure on emergency ambulances ❌ Longer wait times for vulnerable patients ❌ Reduced accountability and inconsistent care ❌ More strain on an already struggling health system Privatisation might look like a cost‑saving measure, but the real cost will be paid by patients and frontline workers. Victoria deserves a safe, reliable, publicly accountable NEPT system. 👉 

The more support we obtain for reducing the speed limit to 40 kmh, from residents, vistors, traders in and around the area, the more likely the required changes will occur.
